Hot summer nights 2013

Another year done and  to bring in the new year there's no better way than an ol skool car show!  and for the third year i went to the Cranksters run event "Hot summers night"
unfortunately i didn't have my dodge there as i still haven't fixed the engine yet (soon i hope) so i just rocked up in my bunky datsun and parked it well away from the cool cars ;) did the usual of talking to people i haven't seen for a while more than take photos but this is the time to catch up with like minded car folks.

I have posted all the photos and a proper write up on the website for all to see, so this is just a taster for those who visit my page, so please go there and check it out!!!

On another note i'd like to take this time to say thanks to Jay Fitzgerald of 'Tech Toyz' for building me my new computor, it's only taken me 2yrs to get my shit together and save some coin and finally order one custom built by Jay, and i must say, it's a ripper!!! for the geeks out there its basically a gaming PC, the specs are..

. Intel i7-3770k 3.5ghz CPU
. 16gb DDR3 1600mhz ram
. Nvidia GTX650 2gb graphics card
. Asus Z77 pro4-M (ASRock) motherboard
. 240gb SSD
. Gigabit LAN, HD audio, USB 3.0 +DVD r/wr

Mmm purdy
this stuff is the shiz!

and as a result i bought the new Lightroom 4.0 for it, so i now have the top performing computor to edit all these photos, without all the lag like the old one did, dunno why i waited so long to upgrade..oh yeah..i was broke HA! but seriously i should have done this sooner considering i edit not just car photos, but also the odd wedding and model shoots (which i can now start doing again!) i needed a computer with the power and ability to actually handle the files i upload and to do them justice.
So for 2013 i have the tech ability to go further than i ever have before... now if i can just make more time to actually do some of these shoots, i'll be a happy man ;)

till next time... Bruce.

NYE 2011

New years eve is not a time i usually go out and par'tee like it's 1999.. thats been and gone and i have no time for drunken yobbo ferals at a park! but i still managed to end up at Rockingham foreshore (onya mark!) and there i was..in the middle of it all, listening to a few bands including Mental As Anything! hmm....not too bad i spose, and i took my camera. fancy that!!
So here's a photo overview of the night!...i didnt get there early so i missed a few of the bands...
(remember, photos are 'clickable' for larger views) ;)

The place was packed!!

YMCA always get 'em going!

And they had 2 new members ;)

WATCH OUT!! haha

considering the size of the crowd, not a lot of trouble?

heaps of police around!

Now i didn't have any drinks while i was there (i did have a couple beforehand tho) so this was a relatively
sober NYE! how strange! oh and i left before the Fireworks, so no pretty pics of that!
 till next time ;)

Model shoot

Sorry for the late posts, Helstra decided if i dont pay my phone line they cut it off. considering my internetz go thru it, i also lose that. and a week after not getting it reconnected they can shove it up their asses!! so i now have no land line (which i never use) and no net (using Optus, which i have now cancelled). am currently using "Vivid" wireless as we really dont have a choice 'round here. and seeing i'm on the outer edge of their signal, it's not great either, may need to get their 'home gateway'; which has built in antenna's. but while i can access the nets i will endeavour to update everything (i also got a new hi-techy phone too, but you can only do so much on them!)

Anywho, i recently joined a model group and they have monthly get-together's to take pics and practice there trade (including not just models but also MUA's (make-up artists) and photogs). it's a good group of people and a place to organise the monthly shoot via a poll on what style to do and finding a location to suit.
Last months shoot was with the theme "old Hollywood' and done in 'Wolf lane' in the city. although there were some difficulties with being in an ally (shadows/direct sun etc) this is the point of these shoots. work around these problems to get the required shots, unlike a studio shoot were you can get it just right, here you really have to think about how you position your model and use various forms of lighting equipment eg: reflectors and/or flashes/strobes. also you can use any spare bodies to hold said reflectors and work together. We had around 8 models, 3 mua's and 20 odd photogs for the day and after around 4hrs i think everyone was quite pleased with the resulting shots. even if there were some sore feet! i even did a video coverage as a sort of doco on how the event went, but as i dont have a reliable editing software and MS wont accept quicktime files, i have yet to finish it :(

so now for the pics :)  (not my best photos skills as i just wanted these shots for the vid)

Sarah-jane, who organizes the whole event!

yes, we even had 1 male model!!

Johannes multitasking!

so there you go. cant wait for the next one, hopefully i can get some proper shots and a vid!!

EDIT: here is the video!....
